This is a newsletter about spanking, storytelling, and erotic exploration.
An occasional email might seem an archaic choice in an era of on-demand video clips and bottomless content feeds. Amid this avalanche, moments of serenity become precious, it can be a relief to slow down, to take our time, and appreciate things that have themselves taken time to been crafted.
Email is a more intimate kind of communication, like receiving a carefully written letter in the post. It requires an investment of attention, but rewards a reader’s focus. Even though it’s delivered virtually, there’s a permanence to a message, it can remain in your inbox in perpetuity, waiting for the right time or mood to be opened. Its contents become a record of interesting things that you can search, or return to whenever you please.
Endless content feeds can be great, but also, terrible. They are inherently transient, so if you don’t happen to be looking at the feed when something is posted, you might miss it entirely. This isn’t a big problem for curators who recirculate a large pool of content, as someone else you follow might re-share that meme or image you missed next month. But it means one-off creative works like stories, which can take months to write, can be easily missed.
Feeds don’t take into account the effort required to create new content, or the value each reader might associate with their favourite creators. In a feed, interesting but bland-looking text posts might be sandwiched between eye-catchingly explicit imagery, and can be easily drowned out by the dopamine rush in the viewer’s head. Like a whisper in a rock concert, words can struggle to be heard, they are quietly scrolled past and forgotten.
But it’s more than about just updates, email offers an opportunity to send out a more personal missive. I’m honoured that so many consider themselves fans of my stories. This is a chance to talk more intimately to those who care deeply about what I write, to share insights about the creative process and how I think, topics that won’t necessarily resonate with a general audience.
That’s the true magic of social media, you won’t just be joining me behind the curtain, but a little community of like-minded souls united by our shared interest in spanking.
It’s a pleasure to have you here, on this ongoing erotic adventure.
